Playing With Pens - pt1

I've decided to start a new section of WellNailed entitled 'Playing With Pens'.
Mani's that come under this title will be me, well... you get the idea! I did these nails yesterday, and had no clue what to name them, so there was born the new section.

The basic idea of this look was henna. Why that came to my brain, I do not know, but that's usually where inspiration comes from right? Nowhere? Usually when I'm watching a film that's boring me..

Seeing as though I know nothing about the intricate craft that is henna, I looked at couple of piccies online, and took it in my own direction -

The base colour is Barry M Gold Foil, and I used black and red nail art pens for the design.

I hope you like these and I'll see you next time,

Eclats Du Soir De Chanel

Today, I have the one and only nail polish form the Chanel Christmas collection - Eclats Du Soir De Chanel.
Polish is named 'Malice' and is a deep red shimmer. Perfect for this time of year.

I've got to say, I'm a teeny bit glad Chanel only included the one polish in this collection! A tad easier on the wallet, but on the other hand, I always love their collections.

Anyway, on to the beauty that we're all here for!

Malice is a warm cranberry red, packed full of shimmer. Opaque in two coats. Well it was opaque in one, but streaky. It needs two if your after that smooth even coverage, which we all are! This isn't the most unique colour ever, obviously, but beautiful non the less.

Malice costs £18 and I bought mine from Debenhams, as per!!

Now the moment we all know is coming The Man With The Golden Gun Top Coat!

How amazing is that for Christmas!

Hope you're all having a fabulous weekend.

P.S apologies for my index nail, we had breakage :-(

China Glaze - Exotic Encounters

Today, I have a swatch for you of Exotic Encounters by China Glaze. This nail polish is from the 'On Safari' collection, and is creme teal shade.

Exotic Encouneters has quickly become my favourite blue! I love a bit of CG anyway, but this colour is just so pretty. The polish is creamy and smooth and usual China Glaze. I've been wearing this polish for four days as i write this, and it's still going strong :-)Two coats opacity.

Here comes a piccy with an OPI The Man With The Golden Gun top coat!!

Hope you enjoy guys, and I'll see you next time,

Illamasqua - Kink

Today, I have a swatch of one of the Illamasqua polishes with a rubber finish called Kink. I think the rubber finish is so chic! I know I'm a bit late jumping on the band-wagon, but it's always better late than never init ;-)

I love the fact that Illamasqua have changed up the packaging to a rubber cap to match the finish of the polish! It's the little details like that which make me not mind spending a little extra.

Kink (excellent name) costs £13.50 and I bought mine at Selfridges. Go to Illamasqua.com to check out their full range.

And of course, things just wouldn't be right if I didn't add the OPI The Man With The Golden Gun 18k gold top coat from yesterday's post!

Hope you enjoy, and I'll see you all next time,

OPI - The Man With The Golden Gun

The Man With The Golden Gun is part of the 13 shade OPI Skyfall collection. It is an 18k gold leaf top coat, the ultimate luxury. There are a few of these out at the moment, and yes they are expensive and decadent, but completely worth it!

The Man With The Golden Gun comes with the pretty hefty price tag of £29.99, HOWEVER, I think that it's more than made up for with the presentation of the polish and of course the polish itself.

The packaging is beautiful and in my opinion OPI have done a wondeful job making the polish feel as luxurious as it's supposed to. And the bottle itself is just so pretty. You know how magpies are attracted to shiny things?!

I have no swatches of The Man With The Golden Gun as yet, but be warned, it will be added to pretty much every swatch I do from now on...

My polish cost £19.45 (inc. delivery) as part of a co-buy from Buyapowa.com.
You'll be able to find it at Beautybay.com also, at full price.

Check out Opi.com for more info on the Skyfall collection.

Hope you enjoy and I'll see you next time,

Chanel - Rouge Noir

Rouge Noir is probably the colour the Chanel are most famous for. I know that it is one of those colours that I have been aware of for a long, long time. And a couple of weeks ago I decided to treat myself! Well, it was my birthday ;-)

The name translates to 'red black', so you can probably guess what's coming -

Photos have two coats. (sorry about the fingerprints!)

As oxblood is apparently THE colour for this time of year, so Rouge Noir is perfect for that!

Applies beautifully, as I would expect from Chanel. The colour builds up really nicely, the first coat is opaque yet a lot lighter then the intended shade and after adding a second coat you really get the vampy look that the colour shows in the bottle.

Rouge Noir cost me £18 and I bought mine from Selfridges.

Hope you enjoy and have a fabulous weekend!!

Review - Nubar

Nubar is one of those brands that i keep meaning to get round to trying but something always comes up. (Usual a new Chanel collex!)

Anyway, I finally got to it. My first ever Nubar polish, and I could not be more excited about it!

The polish I bought is called Reclaim, and it goes a little something like this -

Macro with flash

Reclaim is also my first ever holographic polish so I had a two fold level of giddiness over this one!
I hope I captured it well, and did it justice, what do you think?

In the photos I am wearing two coats.

The polish itself is absolutely glorious. I wasn't sure what to expect, formula wise, with it, a - being a new brand to me, and b - being a holo, but I must say I am very impressed with Nubar, and I predict a lot more of them in my future!

Very easy to work with, no dragging, no patchy-ness, pretty brilliant to be honest.

Reclaim from Nubar cost me £6.95 from Beautybay.com/

I hope you enjoy today's blog, and I'll see you again soon,

Illamasqua - Creator + Force

Today, I have two swatches today of polishes named Creator and Force from Illamasqua.

Two coats of Creator

The Illamasqua website refers to Creator as "A Magical Black". That's probably true! A black base, with glitter running all the way through. Opaque in two coats, which is great for a glitter, and just super sparkly and I love it.

Two coats of Force

Force is a "Periwinkle Blue" according to the website. I don't agree with that sorry! I would describe Force as a purple toned blue. It is so hard to put words on this colour and I cannot tell you how difficult Force was to photograph!
I don't even think I'm happy with the result, but it is the closest I am going to get!

Polishes cost £13.50 from Illamasqua.com

Hope you enjoy and I'll see you next time,
